We know that disasters can devastate a community, leaving people in urgent need of medical care, housing and other necessities.  Unlike most natural disasters, the COVID-19 pandemic is having a global impact that affects all of us.

Clubs and districts can apply for Rotary disaster response grants to support COVID-19 relief efforts.  These grants can be used to provide supplies and medical care and to support rebuilding efforts.  Like all other Rotary Grants, these are matching grants and the maximum grant amount a club or District can apply for is $25,000, based upon availability of funds.

Since late March, the Rotary Foundation Trustees have approved $3 million to be allocated to the Disaster Relief Fund to make grants immediately available for applications related to COVID-19.  Through donations from districts from their District Designated Funds along with private donations, the fund grew to over $4 million.  Due to the tremendous need, these funds have been depleted. If you would like to make a cash gift to help this fund, please click here.
To provide exceptional guidance and support to the clubs in District 7280 in our quest to develop leadership, increase and diversify membership, increase the support of The Rotary Foundation and advance the public image of Rotary.

Our district has set a goal that all of our clubs declare their support of Rotary International's efforts to Wage Peace by becoming an Active Peacebuilder Club.  The requirements and application process is very simple and we encourage all clubs to join our efforts.

Each Peacebuilder Club will have a seat at the District Peace Committee which is chaired by Diane Chido of the Erie Club.  If you would like more  information or if you have questions please feel free to contact Diane Chido at dchido@dcanalytics.net

Rotary International Zones 33 & 34 are partnering with Feeding America Food Banks in Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida and western/central Pennsylvania in the 10 Million Meal Challenge.  The State Associations will support, encourage and facilitate enhanced partnerships between food banks and Rotary Clubs in the pursuit of a goal of raising the equivalent of 10 million meals for the region.  Clubs will "sign up" to join the challenge at www.rizones33-34.org/hunger.  Their Feeding America Food Bank will contact them to start planning together.

Rotary Leadership Institute is designed to provide quality education in Rotary knowledge and leadership skills to Rotarians interested in developing their Rotary participation and to those identified by Rotary Clubs as having potential in club leadership.  The Institute is a three part program, Part I, Part II and Part III.  Each part is a full day and you can take each part as your schedule allows.  These educational opportunities will teach you skills that will benefit the members in their lives and in volunteer service.
