For example, because the Presidential Citation already sets levels for membership growth and financial giving, there is no need to duplicate these as District goals. Obviously these two cornerstones of Rotary are vitally important – so exceeding goals outlined in membership and giving only enhance a Rotary club and individual efforts to include “Service Above Self.”
District Awards, excluding Membership and Foundation – Annual Fund Share giving, start July 1, 2016 and end April 30, 2017.
- Final submission date of the 2016-2017 District Governor Awards is May 5, 2017.
- This will ensure time for committee review and to prepare for presentations at the 2017 District Conference of May 19, 20 and 21 in Punxsutawney, PA.
Membership goals and foundation giving will coincide with the Presidential Citation time period of July 1, 2016 to June 30, 2017. Clubs do not need to file reports for these two areas. They are automatically captured and reported by Rotary International.
A special note about this year’s awards – because the District will be emphasizing Youth, the Six Areas of Focus and the 100th Anniversary of the Rotary Foundation, similarly the District Awards will be associated to these categories in many ways.
