Ruzhdi and Afijete Bakalli Welcome You
to a Bright New Rotary Year

 DG Club Visits 2014

My Fellow Rotarians,

Welcome to the New Rotary Year. It is truly my honor and pleasure to assume the role of District Governor for 2014-2015.

There are many positive changes happening in Rotary. Ask any new Club President, and they will tell you all about Rotary Club Central. This is where the Clubs chart their progress toward the goals for membership, club growth and sustainability, projects, and Foundation giving. The best part – if you sign into “My Rotary“ on the Rotary International website, you can view the information for your Club. I hope you all take advantage, and become an informed member.

We had a great year last year, and a phenomenal District Conference. Congratulations to Patty Meehan and her whole team. Patty now has the coveted title – PDG and she is our Vice Governor.

Our theme this year is “Light Up Rotary.” It is based on the Confucian saying, “It is better to light a single candle rather than sit and curse the darkness.” Whereas this can mean many things to many people, I truly believe all of you are the single candle that will light us up. A single candle gives us a flicker of light – 1,200 candles creates a powerful aura that lights up a huge area.

Together, we become that aura, that light, that collective hope. Join me this year in helping to create that immense shining light!!!

And now, my fellow Rotarians, it is time to Light Up Rotary!!!
